Whatever I have previously said about Irvine, how it's just a wasteland of suburbs and rich, OC people.... mmm, well I guess I still somewhat believe that (Not to worry - I'm trying to work on my prejudices towards rich, homogeneous societies. I promise).
BUT Irvine has certainly gotten cooler in my book. Especially the living 5 miles from the beach part.
AANNND I completely adore what will be our little 500 square apartment.

every society within US borders is by definition rich and homogenous. saying otherwise only betrays a lack of perspective.
in absolute terms, irvine is as diverse as any ward of new orleans.
