A New Job

What do you think the chance is of me becoming a professional blogger?

It seems like a very appealing option these days, as I have not heard a word from any of the companies to which I applied. And granted, everything is moving to the web.

Well, there are a few things I have to consider. First, I can't just start blogging about my personal life because:

1) I'm not famous
2) I'm not a city girl-turned-housewife on a ranch in Illinois (power to you, Ree Drummond).

There would be no way for me to make any bank off of what I do daily - which, at this point, is playing zombie games with my fiance.

So, this leaves me with the next best option - niche blogging. I can start writing and posting about different topics i.e. food, fashion, weddings, and somehow get people to sponsor me. But what topic could I write about constantly?

Food? This is possible. I like to eat and I like to cook. I could be the next Julie, like from Julie & Julia. But there are already a ton of food blogs out there, and I'm not sure if I can contribute anything original. I could perhaps take advantage of my race and throw in some Asian cuisine, but I would be an absolute poser as the only thing Asian I can make is a 10-minute stir-fry that I got off of kraftfood.com's recipe section.

Fashion? Um, probably not. I mean, I like fashion but I don't have the budget to keep up with all the trends. Also, I had a faux pixie-cut in high school that just ended up like being a short mullet.

Weddings? The only reason I could legitimately blog about a wedding is that I'm engaged. Other than that, I'm not artsy, crafty, and not detail-oriented enough to plan anything extravagant, let alone write faithfully about it. And I don't think I'd be a good wedding blogger if eloping has crossed my mind.

Well - that leaves me with very little to blog about. Any suggestions, readers.. whoever you are?
