technically, i can be a hong kong citizen since my dad's one.
shweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. :)
i had a great day. after a ridiculous long nap, i started my adventure today at 5 in the afternoon. took the train to downtown kowloon and walked around for a bit. got really hungry, so i stepped into a mom 'n pop noodle place and got a bowl of this:

and as i was almost done with my dinner, a guy happened to spot my lonely planet guide and my cover as a local was blown. hahah :) turns out he went to CUHK back in the day and was head of the international students club. his job was to show study abroad students around. he doesn't work on this side of the island, but apparently had to meet with clients earlier today here in kowloon, and was just getting dinner as well.
since i had no itineary slash didn't know where i was really, he offered to show me around his city for a few hours.
i got to ride on a double decker bus, on the very top and and ride it through the harbor tunnel to hong kong island...
here's a video i took:
got to wander through downtown central, a city that doesn't sleep. ride the longest escalator in the world. skyscraping buildings with lights everywhere. even some cobblestone streets. people in their business attire getting drinks after work.
hopped on a ferry back to my side of the island and soaked in the amazing skyline.
:)

Longest escalator?!? I'm jealous... I happen to covet opportunities to ride crazy-long escalators.
You should totally get your HK citizenship...
